From the day I was born, God put a whisper of missions into my heart. When the missions trips for 2025 were presented in the weekend church service, I saw the faces of the children in Kenya and I felt a prick in my heart. I knew I had to go and I knew I could help significantly using my professional counseling skills as a child therapist and also my teaching skills as a professor. When I was in Kenya in August 2025, sitting with the Kenyan staff of Agape one morning, I prayed a soft prayer of, “God, write my story.” And immediately, He spoke to my heart and said, “Sell your house. Sell everything you own. Come back and train these people to help reduce the trauma these children have faced.” I tearfully said, “Okay, I will.” And to that end, I courageously responded to that call. The day I returned home to the States, I called a realtor and also set up a meeting with Agape leadership. Agape asked how soon I could return and my answer was November 2025. As of today, my house remains for sale, I had an estate sale and sold everything I own, and my 5-year travel Visa is secure. I will be serving Agape Children’s Ministry in Kenya in 3-month blocks throughout 2026, with the anticipation of full-relocation as God leads. I was earnest in my prayer of “God write my story” and…He very clearly is doing just that.
